Spoof reminiscences of a former variety star. Count Arthur Strong is an expert in everything from the world of entertainment to the origins of the species, all false starts and nervous fumbling, poorly concealed by a delicate sheen of bravado and self-assurance.
To further his career as a top celebrity, Arthur manages to persuade Geoffrey away from his duties at the church hall to help make a documentary about Arthur himself for the BBC. On his trip down memory lane he visits one of the old theatres where he regularly topped the bill, only to find that it has recently changed hands.
